The biohybrid ray created by Park et al (2016), and a stingray in the National Marine Aquarium

Thought I’d do a photo-comparison between the biohybrid ‘rays’ that I blogged about in this post, and a real-life stingray that I saw in the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth last week. Despite their differences in size, both rays move with a similar undulating motion that is found in batoids. I really loved seeing these huge rays up close too! (who doesn’t love aquariums?)
